High-temperature steam sterilization tape

Product description

This product is a chemical indicator tape for autoclaving with pressure steam. The diagonal stripes contain special heat-sensitive dyes that change from off-white to black under conditions of 121°C for 15 to 20 minutes or 134°C for 3 minutes. If the color change is uneven or incomplete, it indicates that the package has not been properly sterilized. This tape also serves to secure and seal packages, and the dye is resistant to water damage, allowing for writing notes. After sterilization, the color does not easily fade. Note: If the product's adhesive quality is insufficient or non-existent, do not use it.

Usage method

Apply 5 to 6 cm of sterilization indicator tape at the sealing edge of the item (or container). Wrap it in a cross pattern for no less than two rounds to secure and bundle it. If securing is not needed, cut an appropriate length of the indicator tape and directly stick it on the outside of the sterilization package at a conspicuous location. Press the tape lightly to enhance its sealing effect; you can also use a marker pen to record information directly on the tape. Place it in the sterilizer for sterilization. Under certain temperature and time conditions, the indicator on the tape changes from off-white to black, indicating that the package has undergone steam sterilization. If the color change is uneven or there is no change, it indicates that the package has not been sterilized.
